What is a stage?
A stage is the basic building block of a pipeline. It represents a specific step in the process—sales or any other business or communication—you’ve designed for your deals. Each stage should have a name that best communicates to you what you’d like to accomplish with the deals that you added to it.
In GetResponse, there are two main categories of stages, open and closed:
- Open stages can have names such as New-Qualified, Presentation, Proposal, or Negotiation
- Closed stages can be divided into Won and Lost. These are the two types we automatically include in the pipeline when you start building it. You can add a third type of a closed stage, typically called Frozen.
In a pipeline, you can manually move deals between the stages to record their progress. In Search contacts, you can search for contacts added as deals. You can set up your search to find contacts in a specific pipeline and stage, and save the search criteria as a custom filter.
How do I add or delete stages?
By default, each new pipeline consists of 5 stages–3 open and 2 closed. Pipelines can have the maximum of 17 open and 3 closed stages. You can add or delete stages at any time.
Start by clicking the Settings icon to start editing the pipeline. Then, you can decide how you’d like to customize it.
Adding a stage
- Click the Add open stage button to add a new stage. New stages always appear as first in a pipeline but you can drag-and-drop them to rearrange them.
- Click Add closed stage to add a stage at the end of a pipeline. Closed stages can’t be rearranged.
Deleting a stage
Locate the stage you’d like to remove and click Delete stage.
What actions are possible for a stage?
It’s possible to add new deals, send them a message, and export the deals. Simply hover your mouse over the Actions icon to open the menu and select the action you’d like to perform.
